Just the smell of apple, cinnamon and raisins give that feeling of Fall. It is just as if we only eat apple pie in the Fall and not any other time of year.  Maybe that is the case because during what else can we do during harvest season with all those apples. Even though you can eat apples all year round.

This recipe has just 6 ingredients and give you that instant apple pie taste:

  • apple
  • tortilla
  • raisins
  • vegetable butter
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon

What I like about this apple tortilla bites is obviously that they are small and even though they do not have a flour crust it immediately tastes like apple pie. That is because the tortilla takes on the warming taste of the apple, sugar and cinnamon.

There a multiple ways to get these apple bites. I brush some melted butter on the tortilla, then sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on the tortilla before I cut out three equal circles. I use a coffee cup for it but if you have baking ring that works even better. You can also cut a tortilla in half like I did with the cracking bacon and egg breakfast cups. These cups will be a little bit bigger but work just a well.

Then you take a muffin pan (I love a muffin pan to work with just like with these banana muffins) and push the circles in the muffin pan. Add some apple and raisins and sprinkle with a little more brown sugar. Now put them in the oven and let your house be infused with the smell of apple pie. Voila you are done!
