How to make Mexican chalupas
You can buy chalupas in the store but try to make chalupas yourself. It is really very easy to make.
Start with preheating a skillet to medium-hot. Add the ground beef and brown in about 5 minutes.
As ground beef has enough fat you do not need to add anything extra like oil or butter. When the beef is browned add the chopped sweet red pepper and finely chopped onion.
Stir to combine and keep on stirring until the pepper and onion is soft and translucent. Sprinkle the taco seasoning on the meat and keep stirring.
Now add the tomato puree to the skillet and stir it through the beef. Then it is time to add the kidney beans.
Put on a low simmer while you add about half a cup of the water. Cut the Roma tomatoes into quarters and stir through the beef.
Simmer for 10-15 minutes and stir occasionally so it won’t stick to the pan. Add more water if needed and stir when added.
Warm the chalupas in a preheated oven at 200℉. Scoop 3-4 tablespoons in the chalupas and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Your Mexican chalupas are ready to serve.
