There are many ways to make naan. What I love about this recipe is that you can make a really quick version of naan bread.
Without yeast, means no waiting time which is normally the result when working with yeast. If you want a great, quick naan recipe and want to make it while your curry is on the stove this is your recipe.
Naan bread ingredients
To make this garlic naan bread recipe all you need are the following ingredients:
- Self-raising flour
- Greek yoghurt
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder or minced garlic (optional)
You can even omit the sugar and salt and have just a three ingredient recipe. But they make the naan just a little tastier so that is why I’m using them here.
How to make no yeast naan bread
To make this naan recipe, start with the Greek yoghurt and combine it with the olive oil. Give it a big stir so the yoghurt can absorb the olive oil. Set aside.
In a separate bowl combine the self-raising flour, salt, sugar and garlic powder. Instead of using garlic powder you can use fresh garlic.
Mince one or two cloves of garlic to substitute the garlic powder. Whisk all the dry ingredients through thoroughly before adding the Greek yoghurt.
Combine it with a wooden spoon before you start kneading it into a consistent dough by hand. This takes about 5 minutes.
Then make a dough ball, flatten it slightly and cut it into 6 equal wedges. Roll a wedge into a shape of naan with a rolling pin.
Warm a grill pan or skillet and brush with a little bit of olive oil. Grill the naan for about 1-2 minute per side.
Keep warm in a clean kitchen towel and serve your naan.

Store naan bread
You can store this naan bread in a resealable bag in the fridge for 1-2 days. Before using warm the naan in the oven wrapped in aluminium foil at 400℉/200℃ for 7-9 minutes.
You can also store them in the freezer in a freezer bag as well. Thaw first and warm in the oven as mentioned above, on a griddle or in the microwave.

- 1½ cup of self raising flour
- 150 gram Greek yoghurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
